Our council has 8 places on the board so would mean they would have to be 9 people or more for an election to be called. We would like to thank our existing community councillors for all there work over the last 4 years. We also would like to welcome the new community councillors. DJ Hall Transfer Update
Published: 8th/10/2019

The agreement between the Kiltearn Community Council (KCC) and the Evanton Community Trust (ECT), to transfer ownership of the Diamond Jubilee Hall, is now entering its final stage. A Hall Management Group, consisting of two members of KCC, two members of ECT, representatives of regular hall user groups and other members of the community, has already been set up to look at ways to improve and develop the hall once ownership is transferred. The first step will be to source funding to employ a development officer who will be tasked with consulting with the whole community to explore what you would like to see taking place not just in the hall but in the village as well. We already have lots of ideas from the public meeting held earlier this year, but we want to hear from everyone! We also have plans to upgrade the building – a recent building survey recommended new windows, a new kitchen, new toilet facilities and a new heating system. We will be actively looking for funding to carry out this work. We recently posted on our Facebook page to find out if there was interest in the village in starting a community market. The response was very positive. Due to other similar events happening before Christmas, we have decided to defer progressing this until after New Year. Watch this space.
